April … The Month of Renewal and Rebirth.

Easter --- although the full moon cycle has made us wait a bit longer this year, we celebrate this blessed day with joy throughout the world. He is Risen and we are elated at this occasion. We observe the season of Lent (sacrifice) for six weeks prior with Easter Sunday ending the Lenten season and we celebrate the Risen Lord.

How is the date of Easter determined? With help from math equations --- we look to the liturgical, and astronomical calendars and the date of the Pascal Full Moon. To help influence the date of Easter, events include those that take place after March 21, and after a full moon on a day other than a Sunday. If the full moon happens on a Sunday, however, Easter will be the subsequent Sunday. We observe this highly revered day with gladness in our hearts.

Earth Day, which falls on April 22 annually, was created to celebrate and help protect our environment. We know this day to be a day of toil --- a worldwide clean-up of parks, beaches, streets, yards and anywhere that shows disrespect for our ecosystem. Many communities offer information surrounding Earth Day --- its origin and ideas on how to support this global day of tidying. Some neighborhoods host  festivals, buddy clean-ups and welcome speakers who bring topics that will impact our world. This day helps us to remain aware and to care for our Mother Earth.

Envisioned in the 1960’s and brought to fruition in 1970, with over one billion people in over 190 countries showing support for our environment, Earth Day provides us with perspective into the beauty on our planet. We have the power to keep our environment healthy, manicured, and picturesque.  Volunteering does not need to be just on April 22. Programs are available all year for those interested in getting their hands dirty in parks, on hiking trails, grasslands, and the list goes on. Many schools  demonstrate excellent lessons around Earth Day. Children are happy to help out for this great cause. Out of the classroom; they see the impact. They are genuine about their feelings for the future and how they could be affected. They want to preserve Mother Nature!

(If you’re not sure how you can help, please contact your local library, city office, or the nearest park office.) Let’s clean it up to keep it up!

Arbor Day – the day to appreciate trees, is celebrated on Friday, April 29. The slogan, Go Plant A Tree, was born in respect for the National Day of Tree Planting. This year, 2022, marks the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day. Buddy up or go out on your own to help plant trees - a fun activity providing great exercise. Healthy trees and foliage provide oxygen, improve air quality, will conserve water and protect wildlife. We value shade and positive energy, but also the compost that is originated from fallen leaves. We need trees for life!

With the end of the school year, some children and adults are tuning their instruments for their annual spring concerts. This is an event that you do not want to miss! That said, the professionals at CA&C Video Productions are at the ready to video your child’s big event. Whether it’s a solo, or a blend of beautiful musical notes, we are your experts in making memories. We help you to preserve your history because history matters!

Happy April! Thank you for being a loyal reader.
