May Fills The Air With Appreciation
May brings us a myriad of springtime reflections and holidays such as Mother’s Day, Nurses Day, Teacher’s Day, and Memorial Day. Our salutations take on a new meaning with “May the 4th be with you,” on Star Wars Day, for us eccentrics.
We honor Mom --- our ouch-protector, hug generator, and favorite food provider. We look to mom for whatever ails us and for the most astute advice. She is loved beyond all others and has a special place in our hearts. Mother’s Day…the one day each year that generates more cards in the mail and phone calls worldwide. I Love You’s are plentiful.
As May is the month of “Mom,” I would like to mention my own mom’s birthday on May 19. Annette, the “A” in CA&C Video Productions, who was introduced in a previous newsletter, is truly one of the inspirations for this company…She most definitely was and still is a loving, encouraging influence in my life, and will forever be in my heart.
Nurses…What can one say about these angels who help heal us? They certainly deserve a week --- I say month, for admiration and gratitude. They are the ones “at war” for us combating whichever malady is upon us, and they do it with thoughts of only making it all better. We open our hearts and say thank you especially for their brave and exhausting efforts during the Covid-19 crisis. Prayers find these messengers of mercy … don’t be shy.
“Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” This line by Princess Leia Organa, began it all. Star Wars Day brings us A New Hope every year. “May the 4th be with you” greets us with encouragement and optimism, every fourth day in the month of May. As Star Wars fans, we take it all in and celebrate perhaps in costume, reminisce in the classic films or books, or simply embrace memories of Luke, Obi Wan, Yoda, Leia, Han, Darth Vadar, and of course, the Stormtroopers. From the Death Star to Tatooine to Coruscant and Hoth, we enjoy the timeless travels among planets that keep Star Wars eccentrics engaged.
“The best teachers tell you where to look but don’t tell you what to see.” ~Alexandra K. Trenfor
We owe much to our teachers --- these brave souls who, armed with a textbook and a protractor, dare to encourage and instill knowledge. They push buttons to make us “go” and water us to make us grow. Out of it all, teachers instruct because the joy is when a student’s lightbulb goes on. They are angels with chalky hands who ask, “What do you see?” and not say, “This is what you should see.”
We thank the teachers of 2020-2021 especially, for their tenacity and courage to move forward and keep doing what they love for the good of their students and not themselves.
“This day will live in infamy” reminds us that December 7, 1941, will never be forgotten. There are far too many other wars and conflicts that have taken the lives of servicemen and women. We remember their courage as they gave so much for far too little in return. We think of what our servicemen and women do for us each and every day here and abroad. We embrace their ideals as they desire to serve our country, and keep us safe. We wave, tip our hat, nod and say a prayer for their bravery and willingness to continue on the frontlines in battle for us and our loved ones. Many have sacrificed so that we will not have to. Thank you for the love that you send our way by allowing us to sleep at night whether you do or not. We can never repay you.
As we are reminded of the sensitivity of Memorial Day, we at CA&C Video Productions know that when a loved one passes, the memories do live on. Often a family desires to hold on to a final celebration, funeral service or memorial. We are proud to offer video production services that respectfully honor your loved one as it is important to embrace all memories in one’s life. We honor that with dignity as we provide these delicate video services.
Thank you for the gift of your friendship.
